Join ARF Hamptons for free, engaging, and informative talks with industry experts focusing on animal welfare topics, including the human-animal bond, and animal care and psychology – providing invaluable insights for dog owners and enthusiasts alike.

Attendees can have their pressing questions answered by experts during the Q&A following each presentation. The events will be moderated by Caryl Glaab, Director of Training Programs at the William P. Rayner Training Center at ARF, unless otherwise noted.

These lectures are free for the public to attend and are for human attendees only. Please leave your furry friends at home. Space is limited and must be reserved in advance.

How to Be a Dog's Best Friend

Wednesday, May 27 at 4PM

This special lecture is for kids (and their parents) to learn how to be a dog’s best friend by understanding what they like, and what they don’t like. Professional dog trainer and behavior consultant Veronica Grzybowska, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA, will help kids understand how dogs communicate with us and with each other.

Meet adoptable dogs from 4 to 4:30 PM, followed by the lecture. Snacks will be provided.

Volunteer Orientation

Before beginning your volunteer journey at ARF, every volunteer is required to attend a brief orientation at the ARF Adoption Center, during which they will be introduced to ARF animals and staff members and given a brief training session on ARF rules and protocols.

Orientation lasts 45-60 minutes and includes a brief tour of the grounds.

Once a month on Saturday mornings, LongHouse welcomes you and your furry friend for a special morning of fresh air and fun. Let your pup romp in the Albee Amphitheater, meet fellow dog lovers & members, and enjoy a lively, social start to the day. ARF will be on hand with a few adoptable dogs too!

LongHouse offers free admission for ARF adopters and supporters.
