Whether it's a dog, puppy, cat or kitten, adopting an animal at ARF is an easy and rewarding experience. You'll find a range of personalities, ages and breeds. Please call us to make an appointment and our friendly and knowledgeable kennel staff will help match you up with just the right animal, one who will provide lots of love and companionship.  Adoption hours are 11am to 4pm daily. The Adoption Center is located at 90 Daniels Hole Road in Wainscott, NY, next to the East Hampton Airport.

All of our animals available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, treated with flea and tick preventative, examined by a veterinarian and vaccinated.

Adoption Fees

Cats and Kittens: $100

Two Kittens: $150

Dogs: $125

Puppies: $200 

Adoption fees may vary at off-site adoptathons.

Think Before You Adopt!

Although a prospective pet adopter will often find the perfect cat or dog at ARF, it should never be an impulse decision. You must think with your head AND your heart! It's a life-long commitment, sometimes lasting 10-15 years for dogs, and up to 20 years for cats. There is a lot more that goes into being a responsible pet owner besides providing adequate food, water and shelter.

If you're considering adopting an animal, ask yourself these questions:

• Why do you and your family want to get a pet?
• Who in your family is going to take care of the pet?
• Are your family and your house prepared to bring in a pet?
• Have you done research on the type of dog breed that would be best for you?
• Does anyone in your family have allergies?
• Have you and your family been educated about pet care?
• Will your pet fit in with you and your family's lifestyle?
• Is your living situation going to change in the near future?
